A wiki Election Broadcast for Ken
One of the things I love about the blog is how people I don’t know get in touch because they care about politics and want to do something to help candidates they support.
This is a video produced by a Ken supporter who’s frustrated with the official Ken films, so made his own.
It’s excellent, though as I’ve said to him, I have one caveat, I think that directly contrasting Ken’s undoubted leadership during the London bombings with Boris Johnsons flummery and jokery is something that a political campaign shouldn’t do because it seems to be “using” the bombs to attack Boris Johnson.
If I were presented with this ad by an agency, I’d tell them to cut it into two seperate pieces, one extolling Ken, and the other on Boris, so that the two aren’t presented as linked.
Those points aside, I’m delighted to post this because it’s a really interesting (and well put together) video, and I love the idea of people making their own election films, freed from the dead hand of the party machine (ie people like me, as was!)
Also if any readers are a dab hand with PC or mac film making, drop me a line at hopisenATgmail.com. I’ve a few ideas for PEBs I’d love to try out with a collaborator.

By his encouragement of radical Islam Ken Livingstone is as responsible or those deaths as any politician can be.

I’m not sure whether I’d split the video, tbh. It hangs together well and the contrast between Ken and Johnson is striking and, frankly, useful.

Livingstone is obviously trying to tame rather than inflame radical Islam. If you want inflaming you need to go to the CIA and the pillock at PEx.
Johnson meanwhile is calling for a return of Imperial Power to Africa. And he ain’t thinking China. He just ain’t thinking. Full stop.
The video would have worked with the HIGNFY sections. Just Johnson in action in his political life would have been plenty.
